Outcome of our previous awreness projects on iron deficiency anemia in Cameroon in 2014 and 2017

Child birth is very important in the African culture and such life can be a living hell for an African woman who is married without a child. In Our previous awareness projects in Cameroon in 2014 and 2017, women were randomly selected, among whom were married women with kids, others without kids and searching and some singles who also wanted kids. It was also quite interesting to note that, some women had 1 kid and years later were not able to conceive. During the awareness project women who identified themselves with the above symptoms went for blood test in the health center. More than half of them tested positive for iron deficiency anemia with values ranging from 6.9 -9.7. It meant that the women had very low and unhealthy red blood cells. At the end of the project, they were handed free iron supplements. Between two weeks and a month later, some of the women became pregnant; some had miscarriages while orders successful had their babies.
